Description

This bundles includes base game and two expansions: Wrath of the Gods and Ancestrial Spirits.

Elders say that our world is a fruit of the sacred uluk tree. And you are the leaders of hunter-gatherer tribes, competing for resources, erecting monuments in honor of the old gods, and striving to ensure happiness to your tribe members.

The game spans 6 rounds during which the players take turns sending their workers to various locations on the boards to perform actions. Locations on the main board provide resources and points, while locations on tribe boards are devoted to processing raw resources into food. Then the players spend food on feeding their workers and celebrate holidays, which ensures happiness points.

The unique mechanism in the game is ecology, determining the availability of resources. Before the end of each round, the players adjust Harvest markers on respective tracks. The more resources of a given type have been harvested this round, the fewer of them will be available in the next one. However, they also influence one another, while the old gods of the land have their say in this aspect too.

Wrath of the Gods Expansion

Build monuments of the Old Gods to win their favor. Be prepared for their anger if you fail.

What does the smoke coming from the top of the Holy Mountain mean? Do these birds always fly so low? And why does uluk look so pale this season? Solve the mystery of divine whims and judgements, appease the gods to get your village blessed, or live in constant fear of their impending wrath!

Wrath of the Gods makes the game of Uluk more unpredictable by making use of new decks of cards: Wrath and Blessing, related to the Monuments of the gods from the core game. Blessings (rewards for building Monuments) can increase Harvest and provide you with extra resources, while Wrath cards (punishments for unbuilt Monuments) make it harder to feed tribers, hunt and gather resources.

Ancestrial Spirits Expansion

The stars are right again, and your ancestors speak to you through signs and visions. Will you answer?

Since the beginning, we have lived in harmony with the Ancestral Spirits. Every triber knows that when they die, they will go to feast in the roots of the Great Uluk Tree, but what not everybody is aware of is that they can communicate with their living relatives when the stars are right, and guide them with their knowledge and experience towards a better tomorrow. A wise Archleader will certainly make use of such knowledge. Will you?

The Ancestral Spirits expansion increases the level of player interaction and tactics in Uluk by introducing two new types of cards: Mystical Vision and Ancestral Wisdom. Mystical Vision cards provide special one-time bonuses and an ability to change the game environment for your benefit or demise of your opponents. Ancestral Wisdom cards are secret objectives that let you score extra Happiness Points whenever fulfilled during the game.
