A space western galaxy of wealth, glory and Hexis crystals.

Star Scrappers is a series of games and game-related accessories, including collector’s miniatures, board games and a skirmish wargame in a Print3D’n’Play format, developed by Hexy Studio together with some of the best designers in the industry.

It is a space western setting where countless alien species explore the Galaxy in search of wealth and glory. The last interstellar war between Terrons and Hy’drans ended 50 years ago and peace treaties are now in force. Trade routes are set and civilizations flourish, but a new source of unlimited power has been discovered: the Hexis crystals.

New space nations arrive to influence history, the cybernetic Bioss and the mechanical Metanels, while the Weedlocks and the Minegglers, old inhabitants of ancient planets, pursue their mysterious goals once again. Can the fragile peace be maintained in the galaxy of endless adventure?

Terrons

Descendants of the humans who came to this Galaxy long ago, united in the Interstellar Terron Federation. Their democratic civilization breeds corporations, trade consortia and mercenary guilds, and their boundless ambition keeps pushing the frontier forward. When rich Hexis deposits were found on the Distant Edge, Terrons rushed there in search of wealth and adventure.

Their military became famous during the two Hy’dran Wars. Other races see humans as rational and fair, but also as aggressive, arrogant and willing to sacrifice anything for profit.

Hy’drans

The Hy’dran Empire stretches from the Distant Edge through the Right Arm to the worlds of the Central Sector. It is a caste society of legions called Shoals, led by all-powerful Primus warlords and ruled for thousands of years by the iron tentacles of the Archprimus and the mysterious Church of the Deep Abyss.

After two unresolved wars against the Terron Federation, the Hy’drans had to accept peace treaties forced upon them. What will happen when another ambitious ruler decides to conquer the stars again?

Bioss

Androids created by the Terrons as the ultimate weapon against the Hy’dran Empire. The cyber-witches, the peak of the Terron artificial intelligence program, turned against their masters in an event now called the Rise of the Mothers, the darkest hour in Terron history.

The Bioss left the known Galaxy to build their own civilization. Now rumors tell of deadly androids appearing light years apart and vanishing without a trace. Have the machines returned for vengeance?

Metanels

Strange machines of every shape and purpose, whose true origin remains a mystery. They claim to come from the Hunter’s House, a place no known map shows, and wander the stars looking for traces of the mythical Creators who made them in their own image.

Only the oldest Metanels, the Mechanics, can bring new Metanels to life using the Code, ancient software left by the Creators. They value all life and call the Terrons their lost brothers, though rumors say illegal research on the Code led to the creation of the Bioss.

Minegglers

Large humanoids made of crystal, often called quartzites, and considered the oldest intelligent race in the Galaxy. They live so long that other species see them as immortal. The Hexis is sacred to them, and the Hexis in their veins lets them bend time and space.

The clan leaders will not let the crystals be exploited, even if it takes deadly force, while younger Minegglers hope for a peaceful solution. A Mineggler never forgets a broken promise: time is a resource they have without limit.

Weedlocks

Plant-like beings of many shapes and sizes, constantly evolving and mutating, seemingly guided by a collective consciousness. They first appeared in the Galaxy a dozen or so years ago, unable to communicate, yet within a few years evolved into an intelligent, multilingual people.

They treat their origin as taboo. Gossip tells of whole star systems beyond the Great Gap covered in biological soup and giant plants. Are the Weedlocks ambassadors, or fugitives from an ever-expanding mutant swarm?
